I LOVE MY MOBILE PHONE

My favourite piece of technology? that's really easy question, of course it is my laptop. Since the second year of University it is my life, simply because it contains all the information that I use every day, works, music, books, even my thoughts. But... although it is THE main tool in matters of the career for me, think is not something that I couldn't live without. For instance, to draw plans we use a software, AutoCad, but we know perfectly how to do it with a pen, it's more difficult, you have to do it carefully but you can do it. Or, we have to be constantly looking information about a million of different things on the net but that you also can do it without the laptop, there is something called library that I thing we should visit more often.
However there's something that I'm sure I can't live without, my mobile phone. It´s like an extension of my brain and at the same time my connection to the world. Some days ago I lost the plug and my phone was dead for two or three days, was simpli horrible, I didn't know what time was, I couldn't call my friends because obviouslly I have never memorize their numbers and although it sounds terrible I not even knew the date and couldn´t wake up at time not to miss my clases.
A worrying statement, but the truth, I can´t live without my mobile phone.

Jean Nouvel

Jean Nouvel, architect and designer. He was born August 12, 1945 in France and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He has won a lot of prizes and is one of the commonly named STAR ARCHITECTS.
Think he is very known among architecture students, personaly was one of the first names that I remeber heard my first year in the university. I knew him through one of his famous projects, Arab World Institute (he won a design competition whit it in 1981, fact that gave him international fame). The bulding is simply fantastic, like in all his works the protagonic character is the light, always rhe light. If you analyse criticaly his work the most of the time the ideas are very simple and functional when you talk abut the phisic space but as I said before the way he manage the light gives to the project his magnificence creating his own stylistic language.

One year ago I knew three of his buildings, Arab World Institute (top), Cartier Foundation and Agbar Tower, and how you can see in the images interior space becames richer with the management of the light. In Arab World Institute his seeking of  this management made him desing the whole technology to create one of the facade, transforming his basic idea of diffuse light in a diphragm that lets change the sapeces to your will.
Or in his project to Cartier Foundation (bottom) made a see-through building, is beautiful in the nights. Think is clear why a love his work.
